I very much suggest, if you can, get the original LP. When Musea reissued this on CD, it was remixed, to give it a more '80s feel, trying to emphasize the Genesis sound more. The results: it ended up sounding like Marillion. It sounded like the reissue has added on synths that weren't there and removed a lot of the bass. With the original, you get a more '70s sound, and true the Genesis influence is undeniable, but I really don't feel the album really needed to be tampered with. "Intruders and the Punishment" really shows a stark contrast between the two versions. The remixed had more of that '80s drum sound, and the original didn't. It sounded like the remix included digital synths, while the original had a '70s string synth. Plus even Frederic Joos' voice had a different feel in the two versions. Buying the CD reissue is like buying recent editions of Star Wars (A New Hope) or the DVD of Pink Floyd's Live at Pompeii (luckily that DVD has the original theatrical cut as a bonus feature). At least when the Grateful Dead's Anthem of the Sun and Aoxomoxoa were remixed a few years after their releases it was to try to mix it better or perhaps make a few edits to improve things, but none of that was re-recorded. I've heard both versions of Battlement and I own the original LP, so I should know.
