Murat was on the line-up of nearly every Detor party in Detroit during the mid-late 90s. He always brought it hard. Between him and Twonz the Techno Terrorist, they had that town tore up for a few years there. Sadly, Detor fell apart. I'm not sure why because they stopped well before the R.A.V.E. Act and their parties were always packed. Maybe Derrick (Dez) and his partner whose name I can't remember had a falling out, or maybe Syst3m chased them off like they did everybody else. Either way, Detor will always mean TRUE Detroit underground techno to me.

A true underground legend and self taught studio disciple of the harder yet stripped down UR/Axis/M-Plant releases which he used to play in his 3 deck DJ sets. Following up on the previous comments.... he even got the true props as a track from this very EP is featured on Robert Hood - Rare Species mix CD sandwiched between a Rhythim Is Rhythim classic and one of Mr. Hoods own tracks.

I honestly can't remember when he set up shop in my town but know full well that coming up in the NYC/NJ in the late 80's/early 90's he came to the techno game with similar b-boy/hip hop roots as the legendary Frankie Bones. Plus I know it couldn't have hurt his DJing with, or possibly just getting schooled from Jeff Mills, when he had his NYC residency at the Limelight (in his post UR days) circa around '92.

A solid EP of raw, so-called 'monotone' techno, which adheres strictly to the DJ-tool class: none of these tracks will make much sense to those who don't mix, nor will they be as impressive as they could be, if played solo. In the mix though, the stark, sharply-honed, minimalistic arrangements, coupled with a slightly gritty production finish, are capable providing an electrifying highlight in a set. No wonder Rob Hood appears to be a fan.

Hard Minimal Techno with great programming. Some tracks sound like Jeff Mills, some sound like Robert Hood. As a matter of fact, Robert Hood played this record everytime I saw him in the past 4 years. Recommended.
