Our Own House is the first full studio album released by MisterWives on February 24, 2015, via Photo Finish Records. It was produced by Frequency under the label EMI. The album is forty-one minutes and twenty-five seconds long. It includes twelve songs four of which were on the Reflections EP. Having already built a considerable buzz with their 2014 EP Reflections, New York trio MisterWives launch a full-bore pop assault on their debut LP Our Own House. With its shimmering synths and anthemic, feel-good chorus, Hurricane seems tailor-made for any number of rom-com finales or network TV show montages. Changing tack, but with equal amounts of gloss, the title cut is a low-key dancefloor jam with a smattering of '90s-style ska horns. Teaming improbably with producer Frequency, known for his work with Eminem, MisterWives borrow EDM's bombast and wed it to randy ska, agile funk and sugary R&B. Our Own House begins like a Calvin Harris song before bursting into disco funk, complete with Nile Rodgers-style guitars. Reflections sounds like a heavenly mash-up of Weezer and the Bee Gees, the kind of track you might find yourself making pistols with your hands to and pointing them at strangers.
