I have this on clear vinyl and it doesn't sound great. I kinda wish there was more stereo separation and a little more bass. I also wish I had known they were going to reissue this on regular black vinyl so I wouldn't have to spend $50 for clear vinyl (lesser quality sound and can't tell if it's dirty like you can with black). I only bought this for the 2nd LP (Sides C & D).

Cool compilation. But why releasing again the "Same old madness" long demo version (that already appears on Twelve Inch Singles), and not the video one? This could have been the perfect occasion for this record. Are Cleopatra planning the video version for another release? On Trax! Box, 3 studio versions appears. So Cleopatra released 2 times the same, Marcel Dettmann another, but nobody for the video version. Is it something wrong with the legal use of the track?
Yozshujind
Not sure, it really bothers me that they didn't use one of the alternate versions. They could have even used "I'll Do Anything For You". Overall it makes a good companion to the Twelve Inch Singles vinyl release (apart from the 1 redundant track).
Ieslyaenn
My vinyl sounds shitty too. Side B drops out and distorts on two tracks. I agree! Cleopatra, this particular release was disappointing. Find a new pressing manufacturer and please do some better mastering on these demos.
Rainpick
The drop out on "Same Old Scene" is on the source tape, it's like that on the digital version too. Sure, they could have edited it out, but they chose to present it in it's original state, which is fine by me. "Wait" definitely sounds distorted, they tried to squeeze too much on side B. Also "Same Old Madness" is duplicated from the Twelve Inch Singles release, would have been nice to have one of the other versions instead.

Vinyl sounds horrible, why? i changed my needle and checked other vinyls to see if the problem was with me but its the vinylwhy doesn't it sound as good as the LP that came with trax box? come on cleo! you won over some of the doubters with Trax Box and now you're throwing away your gains with a shoddy piece of product? can someone check the digital downloads and confirm the problem is with the pressing?
Der Bat
I would contact Cleo about a replacement. My copy sounds great.
Wanenai
Hope it sounds better than what the cover art looks like ! Seriously...come on Cleo...
Corgustari
Agreed. I hardly trust Cleo records to produce a quality product--especially on vinyl. I really didn't want to drop $40 on this but they put those last 5 tracks on this compilation and I had to buy it. It would have been much nicer to see a pressing of Side Trax on vinyl.
