In 1986, he started his solo carer after signing up to EMI, issuing a self-titled album that featured his first international hits: Bella Beautiful woman, Soñador Dreamer, Poco a poco Little by little and Siempre Always, the latter composed by the nicaraguan song writer Hernaldo Zúñiga. In 1985, he represented Mexico in OTI Festival, earning Revelation of the Festival. Released on 25 April 2006, the idea to record together came after both had previously performed at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
