Breathe, is the fourth solo album by former Ultravox frontman Midge Ure. The album was released 25 March 1996 in Continental Europe, 20 May in the U. and 18 June in the U. It was produced by the American producer Richard Feldman. The recording of the album was already finished in early 1995, but the release was postponed by the record company. The recording took place in various studios in Dublin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and in Ure's own studio in Bath. Ure first recorded some of the tracks. Breathe - Midge Ure. With Breathe, Midge Ure attempted to make a comeback to the pop mainstream in the mid-'90s by targeting the adult alternative market. Consequently, Breathe is atmospheric and lush, with airy melodies and interweaving keyboards. The new approach might have been a success if Ure had written songs as memorably melodic as his earlier solo hits - not to mention his singles with Ultravox - but he has opted for texture over songcraft, which makes Breathe a pleasant, but unengaging listen.
