Edition of 555 hand-numbered copies. Packaged in a hardcover box. Each disc comes in a separate full-color sleeve, when the sleeves are arranged together they form larger pictures. Includes an insert and a die-cast metal plaque that says "動物解放" (dōbutsu kaihō), meaning animal liberation. Printed in Hong Kong.

Recorded at ZSF Produkt Studio 1987–1990.
Digitally remastered from original cassette tapes March 2010.

Track 2-2 is not listed on the release, but is listed as "RBA Max2 " on the vinyl reissue.
"RBA" means "Right Brain Audile", used by Akita for his soundtracks to bondage films produced by Right Brain, the term appears on the Music For Bondage Performance albums.
"Capsule Cologne" and "UD II-S 90" were types of cassettes made by Maxell.
"AXIA" was a brand of cassettes made by Fujifilm.
"Matehnas" was made as raw material for Sleeper Awakes On The Edge Of The Abyss (with H.N.A.S. member Christoph Heemann).

Merzbeat is a studio album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow. It features beats sampled from rock, just like 1998's Aqua Necromancer. However, the beats are more prominent and the noise simpler than earlier albums. Promotion Man samples the song of the same name and I'll Do It All Again by the 1970s hard rock band Highway Robbery. This is the first album to feature Minazo on the cover along with the reproduction of Azuchi Castle. Merzbient is a boxed set album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow, it is composed of previously unreleased raw material recorded 198790. Two sets of unreleased raw recordings, Merzphysics and Merzmorphosis, were released in 2012 by Youth Inc. This time featuring harsh noise from the mid-1990s. Most people contend that if you've heard one Merzbow album, you've heard them all, but his new release Merzbeat might baffle those usually alienated by noise, as well as those who feel Merzbow is monotonous. It will even surprise those who've become accustomed to the cochlea-stampeding trauma of his earlier records. Merzbeat is approachable. There are drum beats and guitar riffs. It's been compared to Neu, although Tony Conrad Faust's Outside the Dream Syndicate might be more apt: A pummeling drum line repeats for 10 minutes, Tony Conrad's buzzing violin replace. But back then Merzbow still worked with analog equipment for the most part. Merzbeat is a product of the new millennium. The sampling and looping sound a lot cleaner so to speak.
