The album was the first to feature current lead singer Steve Hogarth, following the departure of former vocalist Fish in late 1988. It reached number 7 on the UK Albums Chart. To those who already love Marillion, the band is something special. To the uninitiated, it's a potential love affair waiting to happen. In 1999 Marillion released a remastered version of Seasons End, including a bonus disc of outtakes and alternate versions as well as the previously unreleased The Bell in the Sea and The Release. Both are strong tracks and are welcome additions to the Marillion catalog.
