Vivid is the debut studio album by the American rock band Living Colour, released on May 3, 1988 through Epic Records. It was one of the most popular albums of 1988, reaching No. 6 on the US Billboard 200 chart and certified double platinum by the RIAA. The album is also featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked Vivid as 71st on their list of The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Living Colour's debut, Vivid, proved that it could. Conceived by Vernon Reid-a Santana-influenced guitarist with experience in New York's avant-jazz scene-the band ripped and ran with a palette that took in screaming metal, lyrical flights, various stripes of funk, and even pseudo-Beach Boys pop see I Want to Know . It was a dead-serious mission Cult of Personality, the band's trademark song, opened with a sample of Malcolm X's voice. Acute and in the pocket, Vivid pushed back the walls. Vivid is Living Colour's debut album, which was released on May 3, 1988. The band was discovered by Mick Jagger while playing a show at the legendary punk club CBGB's in 1987. Although they were considered unique by the mainstream media, they attacked the Eurocentrism and racism of America with their music. The fact that Living Colour is an all-black heavy metal band drew much attention to the band and the album, which contained three singles and became one of the most popular albums of 1988, reaching 6 on the Billboard 200 and certified double platinum by the RIAA. Living Colour - Vivid review: Impressive songwriting, musical talent & original fusions of sound result in one of the greatest albums of all time. Yet, that is exactly what is served up and makes 'Vivid' such an impressive debut. Providing a fusion of rock 'Middle Man', funk 'Theme Song', pop 'I Want To Know', metal 'Desperate People', jazz 'Broken Hearts', punk 'Which Way To America', reggae 'Glamour Boys'. and even hip-hop 'Funny Vibe', each member prove their talent in being able to adapt to the needs of each particular piece. Whether they are straight-forward or extravagant, Living Colour find a way to make their songs both mean. Living Colour : Vivid,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен.
