This compilation was complementary to the "As Years Go By" fan-made CDr compilation by the Level 42 Digest in 1996.

Vinyl sources were recorded using Technics SL-1210 MK2 turntable with Stanton 500 Gold stylus + N500 cartridge, connected to a JB Professional S60 sound mixer.
CD based source tracks were ripped with a Plextor PX-40TSi SCSI drive using the Plextool Audio Extraction tool on Windows 95.
All audio recording, cleanup and remastering were done with Samplitude Pro 2.1 (from SEK'D) running on a Commodore Amiga 4000/060 using a Toccata 16-bit soundcard.
All 4 CDRs were mastered using MasterISO 2.0 (from Asimware) on a Commodore Amiga 4000/060.

CD source tracks: 2-09, 3-04, 3-05, 3-06, 3-07, 3-08, 3-09, 3-10, 4-03, 4-05, 4-06, 4-08
Laserdisc/CDV source tracks: 2-05, 2-06, 4-10, 4-11, 4-13

All other tracks were recorded from 12" vinyls.

Overall it took about 6 months of work between the first idea of making this compilation and the final boxed product.

Several tracks on this compilation are still not officially released digitally today despite the many re-issues, remasters and new compilations that came out over the years, making this still an interesting bootleg. Tracks are: 1-01, 1-03, 1-04, 1-05, 2-02, 2-07, 2-10, 2-11, 3-02, 3-03, 3-11, 4-02, 4-04 and 4-09.

Cover images 2 and 3 were the original boxed compilation covers. Cover image 2 features the actual turntable and vinyl picture disc that were used for this compilation! Cover image 3 background came from the official fanclub magazine and features Wally Badarou in the studio during the Guaranteed album recording. Cover image 1 was the later released "US artwork edition" which is most common.
