Throw was originally released as the throwaway B-side for the first 12 on the U. label Open, but after putting a world of both techno and house headz into a frenzy, Carl Craig then re-released it were it belonged, on the A-side of a Planet E 12. Throw is the perfect testament to how the best dance records are usually the simplest. There's something about this basic half-bar looped bassline, sampled from the breakdown of another one of Craig's favorite disco records, that makes for an utterly infectious dance epic. LCD Soundsystem is the debut studio album by American rock band LCD Soundsystem. It was released on January 24, 2005, jointly through DFA and Capitol Records in the United States and EMI elsewhere. The album encompasses genres that range from dance-punk to electronica. The album was critically acclaimed upon release and was nominated for the 2006 Grammy Award for Best ElectronicDance Album. Many singles were released to promote the album, including the band's breakout Daft Punk Is Playing at My.
