Though Kraftwerks exploration of the interplay between man and technology was recorded in 1978, The Man-Machine remains both futuristic and timeless. Opening with The Robots , Man-Machine takes a brief trip to the Spacelab , before returning to earth, the modern Metropolis , and its inhabitants. Closing with the title track, Kraftwerk leave us to wonder whether technology has perhaps left us all part machine. Artwork from the 2009 remaster. Songs in album Kraftwerk - The Catalogue. CD4: The Man Machine 2009. Kraftwerk - The Robots. Kraftwerk - Spacelab. Kraftwerk - Metropolis. Kraftwerk - The Model. The Man-Machine is closer to the sound and style that would define early new wave electro-pop - less minimalistic in its arrangements and more complex and danceable in its underlying rhythms. Like its predecessor, Trans-Europe. Plus, there's The Model, a character sketch that falls under the latter category but takes a more cynical view of the title character's glamorous lifestyle. More pop-oriented than any of their previous work, the sound of The Man-Machine - in particular among Kraftwerk's oeuvre - had a tremendous impact on the cold, robotic synth pop of artists like Gary Numan, as well as Britain's later new romantic movement. Die MenschMaschine is ranked 390th in the overall chart, 98th in the 1970s, and 6th in the year 1978. The top rated tracks on this album are Das Model and Die Roboter. This album is rated in the top 1 of all albums on . Music By Bartos , Hutter Words By Hutter. At the heart of Kraftwerk's artistic aesthetic is the relationship between Man and Machine, a topic that they pursue with quiet, concentrated efficiency throughout this LP. The arresting imagery that dominates Die Mensch Maschine is inspired by El Lissitsky he's even namechecked on the sleeve, one of the prime graphic proponents of the Constructivist artistic movement that emerged from Russia during an artistic upheaval that dominated Europe in the 1910's. Kraftwerk The Man Machine Review. Released 2009. The opening passage of The Man Machine, released in 1978, is a very particular vision of the future. It's the chatter of servo-motors, the slow whine of monorails, of control signals manipulating remote machines. It's the sound of abstracted production. Over six tracks and 36 minutes, Kraftwerk thoroughly and succinctly explore the impact of technology upon humanity. It's their defining theme and one which makes the group arguably the most important in the canon of popular music
fightnight
A very influential L.P. for the world of electronica. Kraftwerk single handedly inspired thousands of musicians through their sounds of the not-so-near future. In my opinion, that sound is summed up in this release. Describing visions of a cold, automaton-controlled life which is now, in fact, materializing.

Of course, if you are here you are likely to be looking for "The Robots". Which may just be their most well known track to date. You should give the other songs a fair ear as well, though. They are all great and special in their own right.
