Café Racers is the eighth studio album by American singer Kim Carnes, released in October 1983 by EMI. The album spawned three chart singles in the United States, Invisible Hands, You Make My Heart Beat Faster And That's All That Matters, and I Pretend which charted on various Billboard charts. After the synth-heavy, aggressively '80s Voyeur album, this one has a more organic, accessible pop sound with flawless production and perhaps the best songwriting ever heard on a Carnes' album. Which makes it all the more tragic that Kim was unable to mine any hit singles from it. There are at least FOUR songs here that should have made a dent in the Top 40
