'Butterfly' was Kelli Ali's fourth solo album and her first independent release, issued as an acoustic counterpart to her 'Rocking Horse' album, and featured mostly acoustic re-recordings of 'Rocking Horse' tracks plus several new songs.

The album was recorded at The Way Studios, London, and initially sold exclusively at shows on Kelli's 2008 - 2009 'Rocking Horse' tour.

Kelli Dayton, also known as Kelli Ali born 30 June 1974 is a British vocalist most recognized for being lead singer for the trip hop group Sneaker Pimps. Before Sneaker Pimps, Ali was part of a group called Psycho Drama, which she joined when she was 16 years old. A few years later, she was asked by Russell Cross of the band The Lumieres to join his band as their songwriter, singer, and lead guitarist. The Lumieres only had one major single, Cinder Hearts. Continuing the trend of stripping down to bare sounds, this is an album recorded in the all-acoustic format.
