I'm by no means an organ expert, but have been listening to music from this series and those series of Widor and Vierne among others on MDG and have been enjoying them a lot. Compared to the music of Widor, Vierne or Dupre, Rheinberger is very traditionalist and conservative in his writing. Everything to my ears is tonal, well laid out and musical. This cd in particular has some of his earlier works written around when he was 12 - 30 and might not be as interesting as some works on later cds.
