"Beat Diarya was an abstract mix-tape concept I thought of over two years ago when I started to do the occasional remix. I always listened to electronic music, but my foray into rap fandom started with Prince Paul, Dilla, Beatminerz, DJ Premier, Ali Shaheed, DITC and too many more to mention. The original idea was to include a couple of my odd remixes (warps), make a couple of boom bap beats and wherever possible incorporate electronic (synthetic) and sampled (organic) sounds. It needed to be widely accessible to a variety of musical tastes and budgets, while also showcasing Canadian rappers that I thought were distinctive and whom I respected. Now I turn to you, the purchaser(s) of this album, (all 300 of you) to say thank you, support local music and don't forget where hip-hop comes from..."

Jonathan David Buck born November 11, 1974 is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. His debut album, Bonafide went Platinum and became a personal favorite of late rapper Tupac Shakur. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, and raised in Altadena, California, United States, Buck comes from a musical family with his father David, a professor of music, his mother Linda, a concert pianist and his siblings Deborah, a violinist and his brother Kevin, a cellist. A little under half of the album falls into the first category: standard issue remixes of underground hip-hop classics, as well as Busta Rhymess Woo Ha, now with a stripped-down, Timbaland-inspired beat perfect for Missy Elliott, which also happens to be the best example of Jon bs well-crafted remixes giving a song a whole different spin.
