In My Father's House. Michael Mcleavy. Man in Black is the 38th overall album by country singer Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records in 1971. Many of the songs on the album contain political references, either broad or specific, while the title song refers both to Cash's tendency to wear black at live shows and to the tumultuous times in which the song was created, implying the Vietnam War. The album's name also eventually became Cash's informal nickname, given to him by the public. Two tracks-Man in Black and Singin' in Vietnam. In 1976, RCA reissued the album in its lower priced Pure Gold series, with new cover art under a new catalogue number, ANL1-1319. This reissue contains the same tracks as the original release. RCA first reissued the original 12 track album on compact disc in 1990, utilizing the revised cover art from the Pure Gold series LP reissue. On March 11, 2008, RCA issued a remastered version of this album on CD, adding as bonus tracks the four songs which had originally appeared on that 1957 EP single Peace in the Valley, its contents later incorporated into Elvis' Chri. Johnny Farago was a Canadian Rock 'N Roll singer who in 1964 became a member of Les Mercedes. By 1967 he left the band to pursue a solo career. Born: June 15, 1944 in Quebec City, Canada, Died: July 31, 1997. He became quite popular in the second half of 1960s, mainly through French versions of American hits. He began his artistic career after winning an Elvis Presley look-alike contest in 1960.
