Extrapolation is the debut album by English jazz guitarist John McLaughlin. It was recorded at Advision Studios in London on 18 January 1969 and released later that year in the UK by Marmalade Records. The label was owned by producer Giorgio Gomelsky and distributed by Polydor Records. In 1972 the album was re-issued following McLaughlin's success as the leader of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. It reached No. 152 in the United States on the Billboard magazine album chart. Re-issues of the album are on the. Extrapolation - John McLaughlin. This is my favorite album of all time. Second to none. It changed my life when I first heard it in 1982 and Im a musician today because of it. Tony Oxley should be regarded as one of the greatest jazz drummers of all time, even if judged on this one performance. Sad that he never truly received due recognition in the States. Michael 23 février 2017. Extrapolation was McLaughlin's first album release as a leader, and it sounds as fresh today as it did way back in 1969. From the opening strains of Extrapolation to the closing softness of Peace Piece, this album presents a fine modern European jazz quartet in full charge of the sounds of their time. Extrapolation features the under-appreciated John Surman on sax, Tony Oxley on drums and Brian Odges on bass. Odges had just replaced Dave Holland, who was on his way to meet Miles in New York. This quartet blazes through McLaughlin's JAZZ-blues-rock compositio. Complete your John McLaughlin collection. John McLaughlin. Extrapolation LP, Album. Polydor, Polydor. Vender esta versión.
