He has seven brothers and three sisters. One of his elder brothers Larry, a Latin rock drummer, got him into the music of Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, Black Sabbath, and Jimi Hendrix, among others. In the late 1980s, he began working. at the New York record store Dance Tracks. In 1996, he founded the record label Spiritual Life Music. On closer examination, though, the two-disc set turns out to be an unmixed compilation of the music that moves him - everything from classic disco to soul, Afrobeat, Latin jazz, funk, pop and R&B. Interesting that there's so little here that would be considered house, although some of these tracks were club anthems during their time.
