Writing for the record began in September 2003, soon after Isis had relocated from Boston to Los Angeles. Panopticon is the third full-length album by Los Angeles, California based post-metal band ISIS, released by Ipecac Recordings in 2004. It's a shame I can't wear my ISIS t-shirt out in public 6. I'd heard of Isis before seeing as how huge they were in the post-metal scene, it'd be impossible for even a total rookie like me to not have heard of them, so, out of curiosity, I clicked on. Panopticon is the fifth album from LA based post metal visionaries, Isis, bringing with it a similar vibe to previous effort Oceanic, but capitalising on this vibe to produce one of the most perfect albums of the 21st century. I'd just been introduced to post-metal by a Finnish band called Callisto, and I was liking what I was hearing so far. I was browsing Sputnik one day, and I saw, in the featured section, a review for some band called Isis and their album Panopticon. Trustno 27.
