Humphrey Richard Adeane Lyttelton 23 May 192125 April 2008, also known as 'Humph', was a well-known British jazz musician and broadcaster, and chairman of the BBC radio programme I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. In the late 1940s and early 1950s Lyttelton was prominent in the British revival of traditional jazz forms from New Orleans, recording with Sidney Bechet in 1949. Lyttelton known affectionately as simply Humph worked with the British jazz pianist George Webb March 1947January 1948 and with his own bands January 19481970s, along with many others. He later continued his career as a journalist and broadcaster, writing extensively on music and other topics. On BBC radio he hosted 'The Best of Jazz' from 1967 to 2007 and chaired the comedy panel-show 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue' from 1972 to 2008.
