Combining the scouring harshness of black metal with symphonic strings and touches of Celtic folk, Hollenthon crafted an album that sounds like a soundtrack in search of a movie. Opener Enrapture-Hinc Illae Lacrimae welds stabbing, dramatic strings and choral voices to a scaffold of powerful drums, and Homage-Magni Nominis Umbra follows with vaguely Eastern sounds. It's premise is rather simple - Schirenc makes an extreme metal album whilst indulging his love of world music. As a quick aside, Domus Mundi is Latin for househome of the world, a name which actually means something in light of hearing the album.
