Notes

Sticker attached to shrink wrap says:
"In 1975 Gyedu-Blay Ambolley unleashed his unique brand of Simigwa music on an eager yet unsuspecting world with the release of this, his debut album. Suffused with his larger-than-life personality, this Lp is an absolutely irresistible manifesto of his heavy Afro-Funk Simigwa philosophy.
Academy Lps and Voodoo Funk have revived this incredible record. Restored from the master tapes and featuring the rather remarkable original artwork.
Limited Edition CD pressing of 1500 copies with 15"x15" poster of the cover artwork."

Ghana, 1975 Label: Essiebons, Academy LPs Reissue Kwaakwaa Akoko Ba This Hustling World Toffie Adwoa Fa No Dem Ambolley is a Ghanaian highlife musician, songwriter, producer, and composer. The first musician from Ghana to formally incorporate rap forms into local highlife rhythms, Ambolley created the musical genre Simigwa. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley was rather unknown outside of West Africa until Soundway Records included his seminal Simigwa-Do, which Ambolley released in 1973, on their first anthology, Ghana Soundz. Ambolleys sound has led many to label him the ORIGINATOR of Twi Rap hiplife, the fusion. Songs in album Gyedu-Blay Ambolley - Simigwa 2018. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley - Kwaakwaa.
