Guns N' Roses, often abbreviated as GNR, is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. When they signed to Geffen Records in 1986, the band comprised vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The current lineup consists of Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese. Guns N' Roses' music was basic and gritty, with a solid, hard, bluesy base they were dark, sleazy, dirty, and honest - everything that good hard rock and heavy metal should be. There was something refreshing about a band that could provoke everything from devotion to hatred, especially since both sides were equally right. Following the worldwide phenomenon of Appetite For Destruction and its acoustic follow-up EP G N R Lies, the band took three years to write and record a sequel album that would live up to the enormous hype. Released in September 1991, Use Your Illusion I was the leading volume of the two-album opus that reintroduced Guns N Roses to the world. Kory Grow.
