Perhaps this is due to the tedious, generic slant the hardcoremetal scene is plagued by, yet Grieving the Days to Come just simply offers nothing abundantly fresh for a fan to sink their teeth into. The one standout moment on this six-song collection is Hesitating Serenity, which eases off from the chugga-chugga crush and instead succeeds with a more slow-paced instrumental that builds nicely to a cathartic release of emotion.
