Gridlink split up following the completion of their third record, Longhena, and while it's a shame that they are no more, they ended their career with a record insurmountable by themselves or their peers. A cursory look at Longhena's numbers may suggest that Gridlink was calming down. It's their longest record at 22 minutes, and features a couple songs that break the two-minute mark. But Longhena is by far their most intense album, fueled by the fact that it was their last. You can hear that attitude in everyone's playing. Chang's screams are as much of a impenetrable. It looks more like the poster for a live action Neon Genesis Evangelion reboot than it does anything that associates itself with heavy music, grindcore in particular, but once again, it is so indicative of just about every word Jon Chang has screeched or drawn inspiration from in both Discordance Axis and in GridLink
