City to City is a 1978 album and the second studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty. It was Rafferty's first solo release in six years-and first release of any kind since 1975-due to his tenure in the band Stealers Wheel and subsequent legal proceedings which prevented Rafferty from releasing any new solo recordings for the next three years. City to City was the first LP that I purchased, in early 1979. I still recall the excitement of hearing the first notes of Side One coming through the speakers. I played the record throughout high school, though not so much after that as my tastes changed. City to City' now sounds as good as it did on its first release. The remastered album is an improvement on the original CD release with Gerry's vocals sounding much clearer and deeper. The extras are great too.
