The Technology Of Tears - And Other Music For Dance And Theatre. 2014 г. The Technology Of Tears - And Other. Gabor Szabo - Technology of Tears And Other Music for Dance and Theatre is a double album by English guitarist, composer and improvisor Fred Frith. The Palace of Laughter, The Technology of Tears is an imaginative, intense, varied suite comparing music which represents the past frozen tears of sadness - displayed as images before us by the media, etc. with the hot tears of the moment that cannot be absorbed by technology. Okay, been awhile since I heard this album, but if I recall it's stuff recorded for Twyla Tharp dance pieces - same woman Byrne recorded his great CATHERINE WHEEL stuff for. The music, as I remember it, is difficult, demanding, quirky, edgy - lots of fragmented bits of composition shifting the ear this way and that. Frith getting serious, I guess. I personally like the really noisy improv stuff he does more than this - the stuff that never makes it onto CD - but I remember really respecting this album and would love to hear it again.
