Strangers in the Night is a 1966 studio album by Frank Sinatra. It marked Sinatra's return to number one on the pop album charts in the mid-1960s, and consolidated the comeback he started in 1965. Combining pop hits with show tunes and standards, the album creates a balance between big band and pop instrumentation. The single Strangers in the Night also reached number one on the pop single charts, while Summer Wind would slowly become a classic, used for television commercials and mood-setting. Текст песни: Strangers in the night exchanging glances Wond'ring in the night What were the chances we'd be sharing love Before the night was Sinatra recorded Strangers in the Night April 11, 1966. According to Sinatra: The Life Summers, Swan, 2006, Sinatra despised the song and called it a piece of shit and, per Frank Sinatra by Jean-Pierre Hombach, worst fucking song that I have ever heard. Nevertheless, it would become his first No. 1 hit since 1955s Learning the Blues. It was the title track for Sinatras most commercially successful album, Strangers in the Night which garnered three Grammy Awards in 1967. What have the artists said about the song Sinatras widow, Barbara, once recalled that Sinatra called the single a piece of s - - t and the worst f - - king song Ive ever heard. Strangers in the Night is a song written by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder. Frank Sinatra recorded this song in 1966 for his album, Strangers in the Night. Contrary to popular belief, Sinatra actually didn't care for the song, saying: a piece of shit, and the worst fucking song that I have ever heard. Sinatra performed this song in various concerts in his late career, one such performance can be found on Sinatra 80th: Live in Concert. Another live version is found on the CD re-release of. Kaempfert originally used it under the title Beddy Bye as part of the instrumental score for the movie A Man Could Get Killed. The song was made famous in 1966 by Frank Sinatra. Charles Pignone, Senior Vice President of Frank Sinatra Enterprises, talked about Sinatra's aversion to the song in a Songfacts interview: Yes, he said it many times, he was not a fan of the song, but this is that innate ability of Frank of knowing what the audience wanted. He would do that again in concert, it would come in and out of his repertoire and a lot of times he would joke with the lyrics. Although Ernie Freeman arranged the title track for Strangers in the Night, the rest of the album was arranged by Nelson Riddle. In the mid-'90s, a Budweiser ad campaign featured a beer-stealing penguin who would sing the dooby-dooby-doo refrain before nabbing a pack of Bud Ice.
