Wasting Light is the seventh studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters. It was released on April 12, 2011 on Roswell and RCA Records, and is the first album to feature rhythm guitarist Pat Smear since The Colour and the Shape 1997 as an official member, as he's appeared on their previous album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace 2007 as an additional members. It was released on April 12, 2011 on RCA Records, and is the first album to feature rhythm guitarist Pat Smear since The Colour and the Shape 1997. Wanting to capture the essence of their earlier work and avoid the artificiality of digital recording, the Foo Fighters recorded in the garage of frontman Dave Grohl in Encino, California, using only analog equipment. The sessions were produced by Butch Vig, with whom Grohl h. Wasting Light is the Foo Fighters' seventh album, released in 2011. While on tour with Them Crooked Vultures, Dave Grohl thought of the master plan for when FF returned: doing it in his garage where he used to do demos, with no electronic equipment, under the production of Butch Vig his first full album with Grohl since Nirvanas Nevermind and with its production accompanied by a career-spanning documentary on the. Tour guitarist Pat Smear was also back as an official member 12 years after his departure. Wasting Light earned much critical acclaim, even winning five Grammy Awards. Wasting Light is the Foo Fighters seventh studio album, released on April 12, 2011. Described as the band's heaviest album yet, Dave Grohl states that: With Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace we were too concerned with being musical now it's time for us to be a rock band again. Although guitarist Pat Smear has performed live with the band since 2006, Wasting Light is the first album to feature him as an official member since 1997's The Colour and The Shape. The title is taken from the lyrics of. Wasting Light isn't a masterpiece, nor does it see Grohl really reinventing the wheel as far as the band's sound goes, but it's clearly painted from a broader pallette of colours and it's clearly their first consistently good set of songs. Crucially, it sounds like Grohl has started to learn from his collaborators. A Foo Fighters album without filler I never thought I'd see the day. The back-to-basics album Wasting Light reunites Dave Grohl with producer Butch Vig and former Nirvana mates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear. There, despite having never heard any of the yet-to-be-released Foo Fighters songs, young Nirvana fans were showing up early and in numbers. Marigold they'd scream out between songs, in hopes of hearing the one Grohl-penned Nirvana tune there was. He never played it. The idea of Grohl opening for anyone now seems just as ridiculous as him having to field requests for anything but one of the two dozen modern rock hits he's released since. But in Wasting Light, Grohl is attempting to come full circle
Duzshura
Quite simply their best album, not only does it sound raw but Dave's writing has matured, the rifts are as always uplifting, the songs have melody and its loud! Butch Vig has delivered big time. There really are no fillers but for me standout tracks are "arlandria", "white limo", "i should have known" and "walk". The Foo's don't need to prove anything anymore and if anything Dave Grohl should now be known purely as a Foo Fighter not the drummer of Nirvana - 10/10
