Every Mother's Son is the debut album by American garage rock band Every Mother's Son, and was released in 1967 on MGM Records. It blended both sunshine pop and folk rock influences. The album was preceded by the single, Come On Down to My Boat. Following up on the success of their hit single Come On Down to My Boat, which eventually reached 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, Every Mother's Son recorded their debut eponymous album in 1967. The single which was previously recorded by garage rock band. Collectables' Come On Down to My Boat contains the entirety of Every Mother's Son's eponymous debut, which included their huge hit Come On Down to My Boat, plus three bonus tracks - Put Your Mind at Ease, Pony With the Golden Mane, No One Knows - which were all minor hit singles in the years following their lone Top. Ten hit. Come On Down To My Mother's only hit but a big Mother's Son was an American sunshine pop band formed in New York City, New York, in 1966. Coming from a folk rock background situated in Greenwich Village, the group utilized its clean-cut image to score their only Top 40 hit Come On Down to My Boat in 1967. Following their brief, but immense, commercial success, Every Mother's Son achieved lesser fortunes with songs such as Put Your Mind at Ease and Pony with the Golden Mane, and recorded two studio albums before disbanding in 1968. Every Mother's Son Format: Audio CD. This quintet is typically dismissed as a prototypical one-hit wonder, with Come on Down to My Boat being their sole top-10 chart entry. Formed in the waning shadows of New York City's folk scene, the group quickly found direction from writer-producer Wes Farrell. Farrell had previously found success with Jay and The Americans Come a Little Bit Closer and The McCoys Hang on Sloopy, as well as having recorded a garage-styled version of Boat with Rare Breed not The American Breed, as this collection's liner notes suggest.
