Album

High Life is the second collaboration between Brian Eno and Karl Hyde, of British electronic group Underworld. The album follows Someday World and was released on 30 June 2014. The album is Eno's sixth for Warp, and was recorded following the announcement of his first collaboration with Karl Hyde. Eno was quoted saying, when Someday World was finished I felt like we were still on a roll and I wasn't ready to stop working and get into 'promotional mode' for that record. So I suggested we immediately. High Life, the second collaboration between Brian Eno and Karl Hyde of Underworld in the last four months, is a genuine surprise. Filled with energy, rich harmonies, and sideways references to various strands of global music, it's Eno's best vocal-centric album in years. High Life, the second collaboration between Brian Eno and Underworld's Karl Hyde, began immediately after the completion of Someday World. Its release follows a mere two months later. While some traits of the former are present here - a heavy reliance on African-sourced rhythms, and hypnotically repetitive keyboard and bassline - it is a very different companion. It's front and center throughout, with. Genre: Art Rock. Best Track: Return or Lilac Worst Track: Moulded Life Most Overrated Track: na Most Underrated Track: Time To Waste It. So chill, love doing homework to this album. The album follows Someday World. Brian Eno Eno in December 2015 Eno at the Long Now Foundation, 26. Listen free to Eno & Hyde High Life. Within weeks of the release of their 2014 debut album Someday World, the collaboration between Brian Eno and Karl Hyde continued with a second full-length record High Life, released on 30th June 2014 on Warp Records. The experiment drew inspiration from the repetitive minimalism of composers like Steve Reich and Phillip Glass, and from the polyrhythmic music of Fela Kuti and funk, as well as continuing the work that Eno & Hyde have done separately. View wiki. Eno & Hyde is a collaboration between Brian Eno and Karl Hyde. Eno has called the music in Someday World as Reickuti an amalgamation of the names of the minimalist composer Steve Reich and the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti indeed, the second albums title refers to the West African musical genre highlife. Eno aficionados will know that praise doesnt really come much higher. The funk influence is stronger on High Life, which explores the common ground where syncopated sound and the repetition at the heart of minimalism meet. Its not always immediately engaging, it has to be said. High Life, 2014. Eno , Hyde. Return, 08:59. Dbf, 04:13. Time To Waste It, 08:18. Lilac, 09:24. Moulded Life, 04:55.
