Album

Einar Orn, formerly of The Sugarcubes, and Curver, perhaps the most exciting musicianproducer in Iceland today, have produced an album that has a completely unique character. And this is no small achievement these days. I was about to compare this CD to the best moments on Bowie's Outside but one shouldn't compare original works to other original works. Ghostigital has its own character: a sort of a ghoulish happiness with a smile as broad as the Atlantic Ocean. Get a copy. An another on for your neighbour. The Sugarcubes. It's this stigma that makes his solo debut so endearing. Einar is still eccentric, as plenty of Ghostigital proves. But his chaotic stream of consciousness is ridden like a conduit of live power lines by the equally bananas beatmobile of producer Curver Minus. Smatterings of dub, hip-hop, and cut'n'paste electronica whip by in a frenzy of art-damaged noise ex-Jungle Brother Sensational stops in every few tracks with some wonderfully weird, yet entirely accessible raps. The same goes for Ghostigital in general. Einar Örn Benediktsson born 29 October 1962, often billed as Einar Örn, is an Icelandic popular music singer, trumpet player, artist and politician, best known as a former member of the Sugarcubes and a current member of Ghostigital. He served as a member of the Reykjavík City Council between 2010 and 2014. Einar has been described as the first punk in Iceland. He claims he became interested in punk rock after reading about Johnny Rotten vomiting on an aeroplane and listening to John Peel on his. In 1998, Einar teamed up with Hilmar Örn and former Sugarcubes drummer Siggi as Grindverk. In 2000, Einar worked with Albarn's project Gorillaz on the song Stop The Dams, it was released in 2006. Finally in December 2003 Einar embarked on his first solo project. He debuted with an album called Ghostigital, recorded with the New York City-based Icelandic producer Curver. The name of this first album would later turn into the name of a band, comprising Einar and Curver and a host of music is described as electronic beat music, drawing. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Einar Ö Orn Ghostigital Review. Released 2003. The album clearly has a dark side, as you'd expect given its country of origin. The opening Suicide, squeaks along like the rusty gate at the entrance to hell. The voice on Calm Water is freaky and darkly psychedelic, seemingly spoken by a mad Uncle who has spent too long in the woods. Thirsty Fly and Dirty Fly suggest that Einar might have been watching too many David Cronenberg films. The album is produced by Curver, the man most famed for his work with Icelandic Rock Gods Minus. What a pleasant note they play them guys in Ghostigital he said and sneezed Six full years after bombarding the world with their second album the brilliantly chaotic In Cod We Trust, Ghostigital are well and truly back
