Fused is the second solo album by Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, released in 2005. The album also features vocalistbassist Glenn Hughes who briefly fronted Black Sabbath in the mid-80s, assuming vocal duties on the album Seventh Star - an album that was originally intended to be Iommi's first solo album and drummer Kenny Aronoff. The album was recorded in Monnow Valley Studios, Wales, in December 2004, and BHM's studio, Warwickshire, and was produced by Bob Marlette. Joined by ace session drummer Kenny Aronoff, Iommi and Hughes made a conscious decision to come up with a heavier, more riff-based album than DEP which Iommi felt was more melody based. Well, the trio definitely accomplished their desired goal, as evidenced by such riff mongers as Dopamine, Wasted Again, and Face Your Fear. His third solo album, Fused, is yet another monumental achievement. Iommi was a teenager when a bizarre accident changed his life and, ultimately, the entire direction of popular music. Those reviewers didn't steer me wrong, as I liked it straight away, right from the very first time I played the album and it reminded me a little of Soundgarden or Audioslave in places, with lots of heavy but melodic tracks and some spectacular performances on both guitar and vocals
