Earth and Fire is the first studio album by the Dutch symphonic rock band Earth and Fire. Released in 1970, the album contains the first single Seasons written by Golden Earring singer and guitarist George Kooymans. The cover of the UK release was created by English artist Roger Dean. Progressive Rock. Earth And Fire. The Singles. Earth and Fire were a Dutch progressive and symphonic rock band who over time evolved into a pop group. Formed in the Netherlands by twin brothers Chris and Gerard Koerts, and most popular in the 1970s when fronted by singer Jerney Kaagman, Earth and Fire had many chart topping hits in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe, though they never gained much popularity in the United Kingdom or the Americas. Their biggest international hit was Weekend, a number one single in the Netherlands, Switzerland. Earth & Fire had quite a few hits, like Seasons 1969, Ruby is the One 1970, Wild & Exciting 1970, Invitation 1971, released only as a single at that time, Memories 1972, and many more. When this album came out, the band started to include the Mellotron and synthesizers to their keyboard setup as well as the Hammond organ, which they used from the beginning, as well as including a side length epic. Earth & Fire were able to make some great albums in the process. Earth and Fire 1967-1983 and 1987-1990 was a slightly psychedelic and symphonic pop band, with singer and front woman Jerney Kaagman and twin brothers Chris Koerts guitars and Gerard Koerts keyboards as its core members. The band members hailed from places Voorschoten, Voorburg and Leidschendam, suburban towns of The Hague, The Netherlands.
