Streets of Fire is the fourth studio album by English singer-songwriter and musician Duncan Browne. It was released in 1978 through Logo and Sire Records. The album features contributions from saxophone player Dick Morrissey, as well as previous contributors Tony Hymas and John Giblin. The record retains Browne's distinguishable art rock influences while muting and subsuming the progressive rock elements of the preceding record, The Wild Places 1978, to its synthesizer work. Little River Band - First Under The Wire Full Browne 25 March 1947 - 28 May 1993 was a singer-songwriter from England whose début album Give Me, Take You, a melancholy baroque folk album often compared to Nick Drake's albums, was released on Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label in 1968. Together with two other multi-instrumentalists, Peter Godwin and Sean Lyons, Browne formed the band Metro whose debut 'Metro' was released in the late '70s on the Transatlantic label. The Wild Places isn't much like his Immediate album Give Me, Take You - indeed, it's more like a lost Roxy Music album, or perhaps a lost Bryan Ferry record. It's electric, and the music has a sense of drama as well as beautiful melodies that were even better realized, with lush contributions on the synthesizer and related keyboards by Tony Hymas and a fierce guitar sound courtesy of Browne himself, aided by the up-front presence of John Giblin and Simon Phillips on bass and drums, respectively.
