The Ideal Crash is the third studio album by Belgian rock band dEUS, released in March 1999. The album was recorded in Spain and includes the single Instant Street, which became an underground hit in Europe. The Ideal Crash was the first dEUS album to be directly released through a major label Island Records but it's also the only dEUS album that didn't get a US release. That makes it a further pity it didn't get an American release, relegating the quintet further into the realms of cult appreciation stateside - an undeserved fate for a band that has so clearly worked well with its sources of inspiration there. Put the Freaks Up Front. 4: The Ideal Crash The title track starts really strange with an odd key melody, a drumbeat a la Where I End And You Begin. Even the vocals have a weird squeeking effect. Eventually the song becomes a bit more rock orië's still remains it's uniqueness. 09 Let's See Who Goes Down First Like on Sister Dew it's starts with a really quirky lo-fi electronica sequence. This is the strangest song on the album. The melodies are playful and almost out of sounds like something that would be played for an animals documentary on the Discovery channel.
