London-born composerarranger Rose met Red Skelton during WWII service. Red hired him as bandleader on his Raleigh cigarettes radio show. After his radio run ended, Dave stayed with Skelton through 21 TV seasons. Rose was married to Martha Raye from 1938 to '41 and to Judy Garland from '41 to '44. He and Garland had no children.
