Don't think you haven't heard him though. He has worked with some of the best including Mark heard, Steve Taylor, Randy Stonehill, Steve Camp, Phil Keaggy, and many many more. His fingerprints are all over CCM music in the 80's. His personal effort here is a solid Rock Pop effort and utilizes the wall of sound style. Sadly one of the more overlooked geniuses of the Christian rock scene, Dave Perkins released this as his only solo album, giving only a glimpse of his untapped creative juices. The music on this release in many ways predates the alternative guitar-oriented rock that became popular in the mid-'90s, and would stand up to it very well but for the '80s keyboard sound heard on much of the record. The Innocence Mission is the eponymous debut studio album by the band of the same name. It was recorded in six months in several studios in Los Angeles, California, including the Kiva, Oceanway Recording, and the Sound Castle. The album cover features the 1894 painting Impromptu Ball by Eva Roos. The album was re-released digitally on May 19, 2009 by A&M Records.
