The first side contains a recording of Dan Graham performing PerformerAudienceMirror a seminal work in which he deconstructs the performeraudience relationship through the use of a four-phase monologue describing himself and his audience, using a wall-sized mirror to change perspective between the two. Only performed a few times and not always by Graham, this piece changed each time it was performed based on the performers observations and hisher choice. A direct documentation of artist Dan Grahams 1979 performance at Riverside Studios London, side one of the tape presents the artist describing his own and the audiences movements and behaviors in different contexts, an echoing of performativity falling on the deaf ears of a fragmented, ghostly, but ever-present public.
