Track 1: This was done on a 4-track reel-to-reel machine in 1985. From "Headcrack" LP (new mix).
Track 2: This was done in 1986 on 4-track. Originally on "Core" LP.
Track 3: Another four track recording. This was done in late 1989. Originally on "Headcrack" LP (very different mix).
Track 4: Recorded in early 1985 on 4-track. Originally on "Headcrack" LP (very different mix).
Track 5: Another 4-track recording, done in early 1985 or thereabouts. Originally on "Curd" LP (horrible mix).
Track 6: One of the last 4-track recordings. Originally on "Music From The Scourging Ground" (quite different mix). Recorded in early 1987.
Track 7: The last of the 4-track recordings. Done in 1987. "Music For Gilded Chambers" LP.
Track 8: 4-track recording from 1985. Originally on "Headcrack" LP.
Track 9: This is a reinterpreation of an old 7" piece I did called "Wall Of China Love Letter" in 1979. The original piece was an instrumental. In 1987 we reworked the track, with lyrics.
Track 10: Recored on 8-track in 1987. Originally done in collaboration with Jarboe (Swans). Jarboe did a vocal part which was later edited and replaced by Joe's parts. Originally on "Music From The Scourging Ground" (this one is a much better mix).
Track 11: Another song which was reinterpreted. Chris originally did this on 4 track in 1983 - were rerecorded in in 1985. Originally on "Core".
Track 12: Recorded in 1987. Previously unreleased.
Track 13: Recorded in 1988 for sampler and voice. Rough mix appears on "Music For Gilded Chambers".
Track 14: Slow recording Speed (another old 4-track piece, from 1985). originally on "Headcrack".
Track 15: Done in 1984 on 4-track. Available in very poor, rough state on "Between Tides" LP.

Controlled Bleeding was an experimental music group based in Massapequa, New York, United States. The group was founded by Paul Lemos, the group's only consistent member. Most of Controlled Bleeding's released recordings feature two main collaborators, Chris Moriarty and vocalist Joe Papa, who both died in the late 2000s.
