With their third album, Combustible Edison goes further out into the spacelounge realm than their initial releases I, Swinge and Schizophonic even hinted at. Continuing to be at the forefront of the so-called lounge revival, the band which is really more like an art project still embraces influences such as Esquivel and Martin Denny, but have taken an even more futuristic approach on Impossible World, with the help of producerengineer John Holbrook and Dubmaster General Scanner, who have given Combustible Edison's sound even more. By the time of Combustible Edison's final album, The Impossible World 1998, drummer Michael Laughing Boy Connors had replaced Oppenheimer, and they had incorporated more modern electronic elements. The group split during the 1999 tour for The Impossible World. After Combustible Edison, Michael Cudahy helped build the internet radio station and music community site LuxuriaMusic, which launched in 1999. The recipe for the cocktail was featured on the back cover of Combustible Edison's. Released 1998. The Impossible World Tracklist. The Impossible World, 1998. Combustible Edison was a group founded in the early 1990s in Providence, Rhode Island, and was one of several lounge music acts that led a brief resurgence of interest in the genre during the mid-1990s. Before Combustible Edison, the artists known as The Millionaire and Miss Lily Banquette were members of a band called Christmas. The band put out two more full-length discs, Schizophonic and The Impossible World and several singles. The band also recorded the soundtrack to the Quentin Tarantino and others film Four Rooms, with music produced by Mark Mothersbaugh. The Impossible WorldAlbum.
