Horse Rotorvator is the second studio album by English experimental music group Coil, consisting of John Balance, Peter Christopherson and Stephen Thrower until his departure in 1992, released in 1986. About the theme, Balance stated: Horse Rotorvator was this vision Id had of this mechanicalflesh thing that ploughed up the earth and I really did have a vision of it-a real horrible, burning, dripping, jaw-like vision in the night . Electronic , of all of the coil albums, Horse Rotorvator is generally considered the band's Holy Grail. The album is so harsh and destructive, yet very emotional and touching. This is because of lead singer Jhonn Balance, who combines harsh industrial noise with a great voice. The album's leading track The Anal Staircase Starts out chaotic and let's you know that this won't be a happy album. Though the name is a bit silly, the song couldn't be more serious. COIL Horse Rotorvator Some BizzareForce & Form, LP, 1986. Picked by: Optimo heavyweight JD Twitch. Looking through my collection trying to pick a record for this piece, it strikes me that it is stuffed to the gills with what might be called forgotten classics , though it could be that I have a tendency to have a lot of love for records that most people dont like and they are forgotten because nobody cared about them to begin
