Chevelle - Hunter Eats Hunter audio. Point 1 is the debut album of American alternative metal band Chevelle, released May 4, 1999. It is the only Chevelle album released by Squint Entertainment and their only collaboration with producer Steve Albini. The album featured a notable single in its title track but achieved only minor success, especially compared to Chevelle's major label follow-up in 2002. In 1999, after some time doing little shows and recording some demos, Chevelle signed to a Christian labelbut their music wasn't really religious and recorded their first album, produced by the legend Steve Albini, which produced some of the best albums of the decade. A band that showed so much potential before, with a great producer like Steve, is a recipe for success. However, like I said, the band's sound still is derivative from their influences. Songs like Skeptic and Anticipation sound just like Tool, and SMA and Prove To You sound like Helmet. But, these songs are so well co. Chevelle's debut, Point 1, finds them collaborating with producer Steve Albini to create forceful, mercurial indie rock. Dynamic rhythms and melodies predominate on the album, and songs like Open, Dos, and Blank Earth combine delicate interludes with blasts of noise. In line with Chicago's ambitious music scene, Chevelle's challenging take on rock is also a rewarding one. Track Listing.
