In this 1986 live recording of Eugene Jochum leading the Concertgebouw Orchestra in the Bruckner 5th Symphony, we get one of the most emotional readings of the symphony ever recorded. Perhaps it is what we already know: this was Jochum's penultimate concert appearance. Although Jochum recorded the 5th Symphony five times, this is reputed to be his finest and some go further to it being the finest recorded Fifth ever, this at 84 years of age.
