This was the first and only Bobby Valentin album to feature the great Luigi Texidor on lead vocals and is one of the best Puerto Rican Salsa albums of the late 1970s. A very interesting story behind the making of this album is that by joining Bobby Valentin's band and singing on this album Luigi Texidor breached his contract with Fania Records and Fania owner Jerry Masucci threatened to sue both Valentin and Texidor probably because Valentin left the Fania empire in 1975 to form his own label Bronco Records and Texidor subsequently returned. He is known as El Rey del Bajo King of the Bass. Valentín was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. He was taught by his father to play the guitar at a young age. When his mother died in 1947, he went to live with his older sister and was raised in the town of Coamo where he received his primary education and studied music.
