Master of the Mandolin brings together Bobby Osborne and Jesse McReynolds, two mandolin masters intrinsic to the sound of modern bluegrass. This is the first time the two legends succeeded in doing something they'd long desired to do: record together. McReynolds' intricate cross-picking succinctly juxtaposes Osborne's mellifluous melodies. The complementation is complete and the largely instrumental result is the master of mandolin albums.
