Album

Cultösaurus Erectus is the seventh studio album by American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released in 1980. Following an experiment with a more-polished sound on the album Mirrors released the previous year, this recording marked a return to the band's earlier, heavier sound. The first track, Black Blade, features lyrics by fantasy and sci-fi writer Michael Moorcock and is about Stormbringer, a black sword wielded by Elric of Melniboné, the most famous character in Moorcock's mythology. A fitting yet somehow satisfying example of 80's era Blue Oyster Cult, this will definitely please long-time fans of the band, but perhaps not those who Erectus - Blue Öyster Cult. Don't Fear the Reaper: The Best of Blue Öyster Cult. Cultösaurus Erectus is the seventh studio album by Blue Öyster Cult. It was released on June 14, 1980 by Columbia Records, peaking at No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 200 later that year. This album features a return to their original heavy sound, produced by ex-Black Sabbath producer Martin Birch, after their failure to chart with Mirrors. Eric Bloom lead vocals, guitar, keyboards. Donald Buck Dharma Roeser lead guitar, vocals, bass. Allen Lanier keyboards, guitar. Joe Bouchard bass, vocals. However, Blue Oyster Cult was unaffected. In fact, every one of the band's records released in the 70's deemed them a steadily improving musical act that had both pleased their growing fan-base and expanded their musical talent. It is well known that with 'Mirrors' Blue Oyster Cult could have at least been a tad more original and creative with their song-writing, and the 'polished' sound they had experimented with only made things more disappointing. But come 'Cultosaurus Erectus', a cunning title to signify the band's success as a dominative musica. Cultösaurus Erectus is arguably Blue Öyster Cults heaviest album, with songs like Monsters, Lips in the Hills, and Black Blade. Juxtaposing their previous album, Mirrors, which is arguably their softest album. Cultösaurus Erectus Q&A. What have the artists said about the album . Lips In The Hills - Blue Öyster Cult 4:26.
