Notes

Issued in a PVC wallet with four-page paper inlay. Two inner pages are blank white. Includes an additional 4-page A4 promo sheet.

This CDr features an early version of the Biophilia album. Every song is mixed differently from the final release (according to the promo sheet, this version of the album was mixed by Serban Ghenea) and therefore many songs contain major or minor differences compared to all previously known releases:

01 Moon - similar to the single version. Nothing unique
02 Thunderbolt - similar to the final release version (including beats) but does not contain the ambient sounds as heard on the final album mix
03 Crystalline - similar to the Serban Ghenea mix but noticeably different in spots, in particular the beats/vocals/gameleste mixing at the climax
04 Cosmogong - similar to the Serban Ghenea single mix. Nothing unique
05 Dark Matter - similar mix to the version found in the app with more upfront vocals and no ambient effects
06 Hollow - similar mix to the version found in the app except this version features beats
07 Virus - unique version of the song with the timbre of the "gameleste" instrument noticeably different
08 Sacrifice - similar to the app version, slower paced than the final album version and without beats
09 Mutual Core - similar mix to the app version except it features beats plus some added ambient sound effects in the very last seconds of the song
10 Solstice - the original studio version, unavailable on either the app or the final album (both of which contain a live version performed at Manchester, July 2011). However, a mono mix of the studio version is present in the app files but the app must be hacked in order to hear it. The app itself does not play this version

Track durations do not appear on the release itself but entered precisely.

Dark Matter quivers with rich, resonant pipe organ, while Mutual Core explodes a church-like hush into bold, distorted percussion, and Nattura features shuddering, heavy-metal drumming by Lightning Bolts Brian Chippendale. Great, cosmic forces hold sway: Rarely has Björk gotten so close to the essence of things in her music. Björk's eighth full-length release may be her most ambitious yet. The nature-themed Biophilia is supported with iPad apps, a series of live shows, and a forthcoming documentary, but sometimes the cross-platform zeal outstrips the songwriting. The most common caricatures of Björk tend to fixate on her outsized aesthetic sense
