Album 2003 10 Songs. Jazz 2003. Bad Voodoo Daddy bursted on the scene in the movie Swingers and through their first album, Americana Deluxe. Their second release, This Beautiful Life, was an outstanding album, but largly ignored. With Save My Soul, the third album, it seems like the boys changed their sound a bit. Retro-Swing bursted on the scene in the 90s but soon died down. Compared to the other albums, Save My Soul has a more serious feel to it, and the music pace is somewhat slower, but it still manages to retain the same sound that BBVD is famous for. It even contains two parts of a song as the starting and ending tracks I'd give anything by this band a listen . For their first album in four years, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy realized they needed to switch gears since the freak, late-'90s big band craze had become about as hot as yesterday's scrambled eggs. Thankfully, a trip down to New Orleans to play Jazzfest recounted in this album's title track reinvigorated and reinvented the group's sound. 2 and you've got a swinging, finger-popping disc that should keep the band's established fans happy, while expanding their previously limited, and nearly dead-ended scope. Save My Soul CD, Album, Promo. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary swing band from Southern California. Their notable singles include Go Daddy-O and You and Me and the Bottle Makes Three Tonight. The band went from a regular Wednesday night gig at the Derby in Hollywood, playing for a few hundred people, to playing the Super Bowl XXXIII half-time show in 1999.
